The regiment was composed of men from Chester, Lancaster, Delaware, York, Cumberland, and Adams counties, and received the replacement flag on December 17, 1863. It was temporarily captured and recaptured on March 24, 1864. The regiment was mustered out of service on June 13, 1864.
